of the day all kinds of rumors were
afloat.
The body of Meyers was found bang
ing to a tree at the mouth of White-
bird canyon about one and a half
miles above Whitebird.
The rope bad been plaocd around
his neck with a common slip noose
ind the other end thrown over a limb
and made fast.
Whether Meyers was raised from
chegaoundo' was jerked from bis
norse is not known :y the general
.iiblic but on account of the distance
of his feet from tbe pround and the
'net that his horfe was left tied to
mo tiee, it is pmtable that be was
jerkrd from the animal as rumored
yesumldy.
