Wu’s three-pointer gave the Wildcats a 17-15 lead with 2:31 left in the quarter, but Chimienti’s six points in the final minute extended the team’s lead by six. “We had some really good looks second half,” Jamie McCarty said. “Five point-blank lay-ins, but they didn’t go. That’s the difference.” The Wildcats never gave up their lead in the fourth quarter, even extending it as far as 10 points at 31-21 with 2:33 left. The Foxes squeezed closer with a basket from Neil Efimov and several free throws from Jordan McCarty. But Efimov’s three-pointer making it 34-30 came with only 4 seconds left. Jordan McCarty lead the Foxes with 11 points and three assists while Redman-Brown, who earned player of the game honors, contribute nine points, seven re- bounds and one assist. Carolyn was born on February 28th, 1949 in Embudo, New Mexico. She and her family moved from New Mexico in 1959 to Silverton, aka Pleas- antville, Oregon. Carolyn graduated from Silverton Union High School where she met her eventual husband Miles Brenden. She attended Chemeketa Community College where she was trained as a Dental Assistant. She married Miles on Valentine’s Day 1971 in Silverton and together they had three boys who she cherished beyond measure. Miles and Carolyn celebrated their 51st Anniversary this year. After several years working as a Dental Assis- tant for Dr. Huber in Astoria, she transitioned to a Dental Receptionist, where she worked for Dr. Huber until his retirement. She continued in this role for Dr. Joseph Shawa and Dr. Rodney Katayama until she retired in 2005. Carolyn spent the next years of her life spending time with her husband, enjoying their beautiful home on the lake, along with her cherished family and friends. Carolyn was the “Sunshine Girl”, full of grace and kindness, a best friend to all who knew her, and an all-around beautiful soul. She turned 73 years young this year February 28th. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Carl S. Harris and Dorothy Ann Henderson Harris of Silverton, Oregon. She is survived by her fam- ily who loved her deeply; her husband, Miles E. Brenden of Cullaby Lake, OR; sister and brother- in-law Barbara and Douglas Alling of Gig Harbor, WA; three sons and daughters-in-law Brook & Stephanie of Nine Mile Falls, WA, Beau & Kelli of Cullaby Lake, OR, and Brett & Betsy of Cullaby Lake, OR; and three grandchildren, Brody, Ella, and Chloe. In lieu of a service, please honor Carolyn by sending donations to Doernbechers Children’s Hospital. Carolyn will be deeply missed.
