For the past six months, own- ers Mei Chan and Wei Zheng were waiting to open but had to push the date back due to equip- ment delays and issues with getting set up inside. Miyoko is Chan and Zheng's second family af- fair, as both have owned — and still run — Corval- lis' New China Buffet for the past 17 years. Though folks online have expressed concern about a buffet opening during the pandemic, "we've found people are still coming out and want to eat," Justin Yang, Chan's son, said. The buffet offers sushi, Mongolian grill and some Chinese food. It opened Feb. 4 to a roaring recep- tion.
