Nicholas Vernon Rock DALLAS - Nicholas Vernon Rock, of Dallas Or- egon, was born November 28, 1946 in Salem to Vernon “Bud” Rock and Fedora “Freddie” Rock. He died April 3, 2020 at Salem Hospital due to complications from pneumonia. Nick grew up in Silverton and graduated from Silverton High School in 1965. He spent the major- ity of his life in Silverton prior to moving to LaPine. He initially retired in LaPine before moving to Dallas to be closer to family. Nick enjoyed spending time fishing; hunting, camping, snowmobiling, and watching his grandson play baseball. He is survived by his wife, Patty Rock, his mother Freddie Rock, daughter, Karen and her husband Cody Cain, his son, Darrell and wife Karen Rock. He is further survived by his siblings and their spouses, Ilene and Larry Hague, Fred and Carma Rock, Larry and Janet Rock, Pam and Joe Duda, and Trish Rock. He is also survived by his step- children, Jeff Comer, Casey Comer, Patrick Comer, and Julie Brock. Nick has 17 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. Nick was preceded in death by his father Bud Rock, his sister, Laurie Kennedy and his nephew, Jim Rock. Celebration of life will be held later. Joanne “Jo” Fluke SILVERTON - October 10, 1936 - April 4, 2020 Joanne was born on October 10, 1936 to Ralph and Myrtle (Aaseth) Irish in Doland, South Dako- ta. She was the fifth girl born of 6 girls. She was married to Gene Fluke, May 28, 1956 and lived in Southern California until March 1983, when she and Gene retired and moved to Silverton, Oregon. Preceded in death is her husband, Gene (July 2013) and her 5 sisters, Helen, Shirley, Patty, Mary Lou and Sharon. Joanne is survived by her two daughters, Linda DeFrates (Mike), and Leslie Mismas (Albert), her four grandchildren, Brian Bemis (Jenni), Britney Bemis (Frank), Jay Watters (Heather), Megan Watters, and her 3 great grand- children, Sadie, Kash and Logan. She enjoyed the casinos, beaches, playing cards/games, and just spending time with her many friends. She was a long-time member of the Silverton Elks. Joanne was at home and with family when she passed. She was battling lung cancer, but now she is at peace, pain free and watching over us. He married the love of his life, Sally A. Harman (Orton), on Feb. 8, 1964 in Salem OR. They were married 46 years until Sally preced- ed him in death in 2010. Francis worked 44 years in the wood industry, 34 of those years at Boise Cascade in Indepen- dence OR where he re- tired in 1998. Francis is survived by his four children; John Harman, Marie Fidler, Debbie Satter- field and Jim Harman; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchil- dren.
