urday, Feb. 10, 2018, at Sa-

ana (Steve) Mills, Pamela (Monty) Ball,
Mary Ann Holland, eight grandchildren

Florence Pajdak
Nov. 11, 1915 — Jan. 17, 2018
It is with great sadness
we inform you, our be-
loved mother has passed
Florence
at 102 years young. On
Pajdak
Jan. 17, 2018, Florence
passed during the night.
She had lived a long and interesting life.
Her life began in Seattle in 1915 and
was the start of many great and also
frightening events. Navigating her way
out of post Nazi Germany with her
daughter, Suzanne, was an act of brav-
ery. Starting from scratch in the U.S. af-
ter the war had its challenges, which she
met head on. Hard work and dedication
was her strength as she settled in Red-
wood City, California, and built the fam-
ily home with her husband. Florence
moved to beautiful Silverton in 2004 to
be close to her family. She loved it and
lived independently until she was 100
years old. She often told her daughters
she had never been happier in her life
than the years she spent in Oregon. Flor-
ence loved the easier pace, spectacular
seasons and abundant natural beauty.
We have always been grateful for the
peace she felt in her later years.
She had frequently, in past years, ex-
pressed her feelings that she was ready
to move on. It was not her time until re-
cently. Up to the end, she enjoyed read-
ing, visiting with family, keeping up
with current events, socializing at meal-
times, playing games and going for a
walk in nature in her wheelchair. Her
quality of life was comfortable towards
the end, and then a tragic fall led to her
rapid decline.
She will be missed deeply and re-
membered frequently when the skies
are blue, the sun is warm and the gar-
dens are blooming. Many memories will
remain in our hearts forever.
Florence is survived by her daugh-
ters, Joanne Price and Suzanne Adams,
and her grandchildren, Evan Wallace,
Christian Park, Callan Christman, Char-
lotte Ehresman and Eric Pajdak.
