The Oregon Garden will kick off this year’s Christmas in the Garden on Nov. 24.

Oregon's winter wonderland
opens for its fifth year on Nov. 24,
with a new addition for adults and
a whole lot of lights for everyone
else.
With more than 35,000 attend-
ees last year, Christmas in the
Garden is back, brighter and boozi-
er.
A Biergarten, for 21 and older,
will feature drinks like gluhwein
along with traditional German
foods. The best part? It's heated.
And if it wasn't bright before,
Christmas in the Garden has added
more than 100,000 lights, bringing
the total to more than 600,000 hung
throughout the forest.
What you should know:
Christmas in the Garden
What: A European-inspired
event with ice skating, snowless
tubing, an artisan vendor market,
photos with Santa, fire pits, and
live music. It is an outdoor event,
ADA accessible but some of the
paths may not be ideal for those
with limited mobility. High winds,
ice, or other dangerous conditions
may prompt the event to close or
have shortened hours. Check for
daily hours and changes on Oregon
Garden's Facebook page.
When: Nov. 24-26, Nov. 29 to
Dec. 3, Dec. 6-10, 13-23, 26-31.
Where: Oregon Garden Re-
discovery Forest, 895 W Main St.,
Silverton
Cost: Admission is free on Nov.
29, $5 on Nov. 26, 30, Dec. 1, 6-7,
13-14, 26-31, $10 on Nov. 24-25, Dec.
2-3, 8-10, 15-21, $15 on Dec. 22-23.
Online tickets range from $3 to
$13. Fun passes bundle admission,
ice skating, and snowless tubing
ranging from $20 to $30 depending
on the day purchased online only.
Season passes include unlimited
skating, skate rental, and event
admission, $45 until Nov. 24, $55
for the rest of the season.
Parking: $5 to park at The Ore-
gon Garden beginning at 3 p.m., all
guests are required to pay the
parking fee; parking reimburse-
ments are offered to guests of the
Garden View Restaurant and Fire-
side Lounge when spending $30 or
more. There is a free shuttle to
The Oregon Garden at the off-site
parking lot at Roth's Fresh Market;
another off-site lot will be an-
nounced soon.
Biergarten
What: A 21 and older heated
area with live entertainment, table
service, food and drink.
Menu: Includes gluhwein, a
traditional hot spiced wine, Gilga-
mesh beer, or Eastside Distilling
spirits, hot cocoa, coffee, hot
spiced cider, soda and water. Tradi-
tional German foods include fon-
due with bread and sausage, soft
pretzels with fondue, sausage with
sauerkraut, hot dogs, German
potato salad, and assorted des-
serts.
Entertainment: Includes live
music, trivia, and karaoke, to find

p.m., Nov. 25-26, Dec.1-3, 8-10, 15-
23, 26-31, night skate 5:15 to 7:15
p.m. and 7:45 to 10 p.m., Nov. 24-26,
Dec. 1-3, 8-10, 15-17, 21-23, 5 to 10
p.m., Nov. 29-30, Dec. 6-7, 13-14,
18-20, 26-31, $15. $10 if you bring
your own skates.
Santa Pictures: Take your pic-
ture with Santa using your own
camera; 5 to 9 p.m., Nov. 24- 26,
Nov. 29 to Dec. 3, Dec. 6-10, and
13-23. Photos are a fundraiser for
the Oregon Garden Foundation
and there is a suggested donation
of $2.
Artisan Market: 24 vendors
including a glass blower, chocola-
tiers, Merry and Bright, The Gift
Shop, face painting and balloon
artists every Friday, 5 to 9 p.m.,
Nov. 24-26, Nov. 29 to Dec. 3, Dec.
6-10, 13-23.
A Christmas Carol: The Christ-
mas classic by the Traveling Lan-
tern Theater Company,5:30 and
7:30 p.m., Nov. 26, Dec. 3, 10, 17.

Snowless Tubing: Take a ride
down the 150-foot snowless tubing
track, 5 to 9 p.m., Wednesday-
Sunday, Nov. 24 to Dec. 17, daily
Dec. 18-23, 26-31, $2 one ride, $5
three rides, $10 unlimited pass.
Christmas Lights: Fire pits,
food and drink booths throughout
the forest which includes a 100-
foot candy cane tunnel, 9-foot leg
lamp, 22-foot flowers, candy land,
shooting stars, Santa's sleigh, The
North Pole, Northwest is the best,
5 to 9 p.m., Nov. 24-26, Nov. 29 to
Dec. 3, Dec. 6-10, 13-23, 26-31
Restaurants
Garden View Restaurant: Lo-
cated at the Oregon Garden Re-
sort, open for dinner nightly from
5 to 9 p.m., reservations at 503-874-
2500.
Fireside Lounge: Located at the
Oregon Garden Resort, it includes
a fireplace and live music every
night; open daily from 2 to 11 p.m.
on weekdays and 1 a.m. on week-
ends. Weekends are 21 and older.
