The cost is $5 for two bingo cards and $1per card after that. The cen- ter is at 115 Westfield Street in Silverton. Seniors can also get their seasonal shots at a flu shot clinic at the Sil- verton Pill Box from 9 a.m. to noon on Thursday, Sept. 29. Organizers are asking participants to bring their insurance in- formation when they come to 302 N. First Street. Note from the family: One of the most important things Mom told us in her final days was “When you see a butterfly, know that I am watching over you.” July 27, 1935 — Aug. 29, 2016 With her family by her side, Darline passed away in the home she shared with her loving husband of 62 years, Wil- bur, in Marquam on Aug. 29. She was born just a few miles from where she took her last breath in a small farmhouse in Mar- quam on July 27, 1935, to parents Jacob and Mary Toepfer. Darline graduated from Mt. Angel Academy in 1953 and married Wil- bur Vanderbeck in 1954. Darline’s priorities in life were her love of God, her husband, children, grandchildren, extended family, friends and com- munity. She was preceded in death by parents Jake and Mary Toepfer; brother Willis; sister-in-law Joan and her daughter Vivian. She is survived by her husband Wilbur; children Cindy, Carey, Rose, Wen- dy and Michael; and five MARRIAGE LICENSES Rocky Harrell March 21, 1962 — Sept. 6, 2016 Rocky Harrell, 54, passed away suddenly on Sept. 6, 2016. He was born in Sil- verton to Clarence and Barbara (Miller) Harrell, one of seven children. He was raised and resided in Silverton, where he at- tended Silver Crest School. He later graduat- ed from McKay High School in Salem. He loved hanging out and spending time with family and es- pecially his dog, Buddy. He liked going on walks, enjoyed cars and any- thing mechanical, as he loved seeing how things worked. Rocky also en- joyed working in con- struction and doing dry- wall work. He is preceded in death by his father and broth- ers, Roy and Steve Har- rell. Rocky is survived by his mother, Barbara; brothers Scott and Rick; sisters Sherry Pilcher and Shelley Mossman; and many nieces and neph- ews. Funeral services were held Sept. 10 at Unger Fu- neral Chapel with burial at Green Mountain Ceme- tery. Duane Dennis Olson Aug. 21, 1931 — Sept. 2, 2016 Duane Dennis Olson, 85, passed away in Tuala- tin on Sept. 2, 2016. Duane was born on Aug. 21, 1931, to Clarence and Bernice (Burwitz) Ol- son in Yankton, South Da- kota. He joined the Air Force and later became a general contractor. Duane married Susan Paulette Plank, who passed away Feb. 11, 2015. He is survived by his son, David (Jackie) Olson, of Rainier; grandchildren Travis and Nichole Olson of Rainier; and brother Robert Olson of Joseph. Arloene was a resident of Silverton. Arloene was born on March 12, 1941, in El Paso, Texas, to Bill and Arlo Summers. During her life time, Arloene lived in El Paso; Pasco, Washington; Wildeflecken, Germany; and Silverton. She was a free spirit and described herself as having the spir- it of a gypsy, the heart of a hippie, and the spirit of a fairy. Arloene was an art- ist; her spirituality and creativity permeated all facets of her life. She was also an avid reader and ac- tive in politics. Arloene is survived by her companion, Glenn Heath; four children and their spouses; 14 grand- children; eight great- grandchildren, and her cat Endora. Arloene had a passion for life; she taught her family to stop and smell the roses. A service for Arloene was held Sept. 9 at St. Ed- ward’s Episcopal Church in Silverton.
