Dec. 5, 1914
— July 7,
2016
Eunice
J. Maulding
Kleeb
passed
away July 7, 2016 in Taco-
ma, Washington, at the
age of 101. Eunice was
born Dec. 5, 1914 in Silver-
ton to John H. and Sarah
Baller Maulding. She
grew up on her parents’
farm in the Silverton hills
country, which she loved
all her life. She often rem-
inisced how sorry she was
that she did not try to buy
the old farm property.
Eunice married her
love, John M. Kleeb, in
1938, and they had 62 hap-
py years together until he
passed away in 2000.
She is survived by her
two younger sisters, Mar-
jory Maulding Cougha-
nour and Patricia Mauld-
ing Aeder (Robert); by her
loving daughter, Camilla
Kleeb Foreman; grand-
sons Erik Foreman (To-
mah) and Bret Foreman;
great grandson Ryan
Foreman; and by many
Baller and Maulding cous-
ins.
Eunice
graduated
from Oregon Normal
School (now Western Ore-
gon
University)
and
taught at Davis School
(Silverton), Noble School
(Scotts Mills) and Mollala
Elementary, as well as
substituting in Portland
and Milwaukie. Eunice
and John lived in Port-
land, San Carlos, Califor-
nia, Spokane, Washington,
Bainbridge Island, Wash-
ington and Wailea, Maui,
Hawaii, during John’s
long tenure as an examin-
er and Vice President of
the Federal Home Loan
Bank of San Francisco,
and as President of the
Federal
Home
Loan
Banks of Spokane and Se-
attle.
Eunice was an excel-
lent, caring homemaker
and a cherished asset and
advisor to her husband.
Her interests were many
and varied: the Portland
Civic Theatre, gardening
and flower arranging, an-
tiques, golf, birding, cook-
ing, and family history.
She was a sweet, gentle
woman, hard working and
tough; the kindest, most
loving mother in the
world. John and Eunice
loved their vacation home
in Maui, and their ashes
will be laid to rest in the
ocean there.
Edward Vaughn Havel
Feb.
11,
1964 — July
29, 2016
Edward
Vaughn Ha-
vel died un-
expectedly
on July 29, 2016, at Silver-
ton Hospital from compli-
cations involving an unde-
tected blot clot.
Ed served in the Navy
during Desert Storm for
four years and was honor-
ably discharged in the
year 2000. His Navy ca-
reer was spent on two
cruises on the USS Kitty
Hawk. He was also a
brown shirt level plane
captain for an F-14 Tom-
cat.
He settled in Scotts
Mills and became an inte-
gral part of the communi-
ty. He was an active mem-
ber of the Scotts Mills
Friends
Community
Church for approximate-
ly 20 years.
By far one of the great-
est positive impacts of
Ed’s life was his influence
on the young people he
mentored over time. They
thought of Ed’s house as a
refuge where they could
go to vent, get some calm-
ing care, hang out, play
and have a hot meal. Ed
provided a sense of safety
and loved to have fun with
his young friends.
Ed is survived by his
mother Velma Harper; fa-
ther Nelson Havel; step-
mother Lorita; brothers
David (Happi) and Ray
Havel; and God-given sis-
ter Suzy Byers. He was
uncle Ed to Kristi (Matt)
Horton, Mandy (Justin)
Jenkins, Tom Havel, Lane
(Kate) Havel, Leigh Ann
(Sam) Muentes, Stepha-
nie and Jonathan Havel.
He also was great-uncle to
Faith, Wesley, Lucy, Sea-
mus and Charlotte.

Marcus Raymond
Senn
Aug. 21, 1938 — July 31,
2016
Our beloved Marcus,
the holder of the button,
was loved so much by
many. Playing cards was
his game, but he also
loved bowling and playing
golf. He enjoyed watch-
ing football and baseball;
he was their biggest fan.
Marcus was born in
Mott, North Dakota, to
Max and Rose Senn. He
had seven siblings: Rose-
mary, Casper, Charlie
(“Chuck”), Eva, Helen,
Sally and Katherine. He
was the seventh child out
of eight. He had many
nieces and nephews.
He worked as a gunite
foreman for Anthony
Pools, which is where he
met his beautiful wife
Cindy. They were married
in 1984 and have been hap-
pily married ever since.
They have one son to-
gether, Tommy, and five
wonderful grandchildren:
Scott, Dylan, Trevor, Cyn-
thia, and Brent. Marcus
loved them very much.
He also had three children
from a previous mar-
riage, Kathy, Paulie, and
Marcus Jr., whom he
missed.
He will be greatly
missed by many friends,
and loved and admired by
his family. He will never
be forgotten and will al-
ways be missed. He
brought so much joy and
happiness to his family
and friends.
