Peter
Tolmasoff,
88, of Sa-
lem died Monday, June 27.
He was born to John and
Nellie Tolmsoff in Corval-
lis. One of 11 children, the
family grew up in the Sil-
verton area of Drake’s
Crossing. After high
school, Pete joined the Na-
vy. Upon discharge, he
followed construction and
then worked for Halton
Tractor as a field mechan-
ic. In 1963, he started his
own well drilling busi-
ness, retiring in 1985.
He married his bride of
62 years, Patricia Tomlin-
son, in July 1953 in Salem.
They lived near Marion
for 34 years, moving to
South Salem following re-
tirement.
Survivors include his
wife Pat; daughters Patti
(Don), Pam (Don) and
Laurie (Phillip); sister
Stella Pursell of Redding,
California; and one grand-
son.
At his request, no ser-
vices will be held. Burial
will take place at Willam-
ette National Cemetery.

Lee Kirk,
83, husband
to Clara Kirk for 60-plus
years, passed from this
life to his eternal life on
July 1, 2016. At the time of
his passing, he was sur-
rounded by family that he
loved so much.
Robert was born in
Wray, Colorado, on July
22, 1932. He was the sec-
ond child and son of Ruth
and Leonard A. Kirk. Rob-
ert was preceded in death
by his parents and his old-
er brother Donald Kirk.
At a very young age,
his family moved to Sil-
verton. Robert left high
school and employment
with the Gould National
Battery Company to
serve in the U.S. Navy. He
served on the USS Belle
Grove during the Korean
War, providing support
and logistics to the forces
fighting the war. Shortly
upon his return from the
Navy, he married Clara
Tschantz, on July 22, 1955.
They resided and raised
their three boys in Salem,
where Robert continued
working for the battery
company. He was an avid
outdoorsman, enjoying
hunting and fishing. But
his greatest passion was
being with his family.
After his retirement
from the Gould National
Battery Company, he con-
tinued to work part time
for Aumsville and Cas-
cade School Districts, and
drove school bus for First
Student in Silverton. He
finished his retirement
years shuttling cars for
the Hertz Rental Compa-
ny.
Robert and Clara have
been active members of
Grace Baptist Church,
serving in many minis-
tries.
Robert is survived by
his beloved wife, Clara
Kirk of Salem; Larry Kirk
of Damascus; Rod and
Melodie Kirk of Bend;
Earl and Dee Kirk of Keiz-
er; grandchildren and
great grandchildren; his
sister Ila Bye of Eugene;
younger brother Dennis
and Marcilla Kirk of Sa-
lem; and many nieces and
nephews.
A memorial viewing
will be held from 2 to 7
p.m. Thursday, July 14, at
Restlawn Funeral Home,
at 201 Oak Grove Road
NW in Salem. A celebra-
tion of life memorial ser-
vice will take place at 2
p.m. Sunday, July 17, at
Grace Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers, con-
tributions can be made in
Robert’s name to Grace
Baptist Church, 4197 State
St., Salem, OR 97301.
Flowers will be re-
ceived by Restlawn Fu-
neral Home.

Jerry
Bernard
Maciejew-
ski, 75, died
unexpectedly June 30 in
Salem.
Jerry was born in
South Bend, Indiana, on
June 20, 1941. After he
graduated high school, he
joined the Army and
served from 1962 to 1966.
After accepting a job for
Xerox Corporation in
1966, he moved across the
country to San Jose, Cali-
fornia, where he met his
wife, Mary. They lived
several places including
Santa Cruz, Kalamazoo,
and Paradise, before
eventually planting roots
in Silverton, where they
lived for 38 years.
Jerry was passionate
about many things in life,
especially classic cars,
gardening, tinkering with
machinery, but most of all
his family. He loved swap-
ping stories or brain-
storming inventions and
could often be found at
Roth’s having coffee with
friends.
Jerry is survived by
his wife of 45 years, Mary,
of Silverton; children Jen-
nifer Maciejewski of
Portland, Chris (Melissa)
Maciejewski of Sher-
wood, and Sarah (Tom)
Zwingman of San Jose,
California; and grandchil-
dren Sofia, Cassia and
Alexia Maciejewski and
Emma and Alex Zwing-
man. He is preceded in
death by his parents, Stan-
ley and Julia Maciejew-
ski, and brothers Vincent
and Phillip Maciejewski.
A memorial service
was held on July 7, at Sil-
verton First Christian
Church. His final resting
spot will be at the Willam-
ette National Cemetery in
Portland.

Beulah
“Boo” Ellen
Meyerhoff
(Keeton), 90, died Sunday,
June 26, at her home in Sil-
verton.
Born in San Diego,
California, on Nov. 21,
1925, to Francis and Mabel
Keeton, she moved with
her family to Mulino in
1938. She graduated from
Molalla High School in
1943 and later returned to
San Diego, finding em-
ployment at North Island
Naval Air Station. While
there, she met Frank Mey-
erhoff, whom she married
in 1947. She gave birth to
Gary Wayne in 1950 and
Roger Dean in 1952.
For the next 20 years,
the family lived in La Me-
sa, California. In 1969, she
rejoined the work force,

this time at Miramar Na-
val Air Station. With both
sons married and raising
families, she returned to
Oregon in 1980 and
worked in Portland for
Civil Service, Depart-
ment of the Interior, until
her retirement in 1987.
She lived almost 30 more
years at her beloved home
in Silverton, embracing
her family and her cher-
ished pets.
Survivors
include
brothers Dorval Keeton
of Yucaipa, California,
and John Keeton of Glad-
stone; sister Loretta Dev-
ers of Hodgenville, Ken-
tucky; son Gary Meyer-
hoff of Oceanside, Cali-
fornia,
and
Roger
Meyerhoff of Indianapo-
lis, Indiana; grandchil-
dren Erik, Brandon, Kev-
in, Karen, and Andrew
Meyerhoff; and great-
grandchildren
Carson,
Zachary, Justin, Ethan,
Sofia, Caius, and Marin
Meyerhoff.
A memorial service
will be held at 4 p.m. Sat-
urday, July 23 at Unger
Funeral Chapel in Silver-
ton.
Dorothy Emma
O’Neall
Aug. 26, 1949 — July 4,
2016
SILVERTON — Do-
rothy was born in Salem in
1949. She moved to Silver-
ton when she was very
young, and lived there
ever since. Shortly after
she
graduated
high
school, she went to work
for Norpac Foods and re-
mained a dedicated em-
ployee there for over 43
years. She was well-loved
by all who knew her.
Dorothy was preceded
in death by her mother, fa-
ther, and two brothers.
Survivors include her
daughter, Danelle, and
her partner, Dale Sargent.
She was buried in Valley
View Cemetery on Satur-
day, July 9. She will be
missed by everyone.

Jefferey Clifford Allyn
Opsahl
June 14, 1983 — July 2,
2016
Jefferey died at home
on July 2, 2016. He was
born on June 14, 1983 in
Silverton, and grew up in
Salem. On Feb. 13, 2015, he
married Sarah Dettwyler.
Jefferey loved play music
on his bass guitar and
spending time with his
family.
He is survived by his
wife Sarah of Salem,
mother Linda Farmer of
Salem, brothers David
and Carl Ramseyer, and
sisters Kari’Lynn and An-
gela Ramseyer.
The family honored
him with a celebration of
life service on Saturday,
July 9.
