UNDEFEATED SEASON CORVALLIS - It would have been easy for the Silverton High girls basketball team to quit Saturday night. Perhaps, no one would have blamed the Foxes. After all, they struggled all night from the field, had about half as many rebounds as their opponent and kept missing free throws down the stretch. None of that mattered, though. The Silverton Foxes outscored Spring- field 18-8 in the final period and scored a 39-38 win against the Millers in the Class 5A state championship game at Oregon State University’s Gill Coliseum. “Our motto the whole year was ‘find a way,’ “ senior Alia Parsons said. “We had to find a way no matter what. And just knowing that we can pretty much get through anything with each other is huge. We just don’t doubt each other. It’s amazing. I’ve never been on a team like this.” See UNDEFEATED, Page 3B Silverton's Brooke McCarty tried to push past the Springfield defense during the team's championship game at Gill Coliseum on Saturday.
