The boys will spend the holidays at

studies. Both of them speak in the
very highest terms of the Oregon
Agricultural College.
The beautiful silver set given
away by M. Sallan to the person
guessing the amount of money in
the fruit tar was won by Matt
Johnson of Houlton. The amount
of morey in the jar was $23.38 and
Mr. Johnson guessed the exact
amount There were many guesses
within a few cents and others that
missed the mark by considerable.

M. E. Sunday School at the City
Hall was largely attended and highly
appreciated by the youngsters. Each
Sunday school pupil received a prize
and all children in the city 'under 8
years of age was remembered,
whether belonging to the school or
not A program was rendered be
fore the gifts were presented.
Another city street has just been
firished. Winter street from Wil
lamette to the northern boundary
of the city has been graded and

charge of the work and it was com
pleted for $1200. This street will
now be the main thoroughfare for
travel to and from the Deer Island
and Columbia City ways.
Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Quick re
turned last week from Ballston,
Ore. , w here they were visiting at
the home of Warren Quick. They

quite ill and has been for some time
but that she shows improvement af
the present time and the family
