j Be It Remembered, That a regu
I lar term of the County Court of
j the State of Oregon, for Columbia
County, was begun and held at the
Court House in the City of St. Hel
ens, in said county and state, on
Wednesday the 6th day of Novem
ber, 1912, the same being the time
fixed by law for holding a regular
term of said Court, when were
present:
Hon. James Dart, County Judge.
Hon. John Farr, Commissioner.
Hon. W. K. Tichenor, Commiss
ioner. H. E. LaBare, Clerk. A.
E. Thompson, Sheriff. Due procla
mation being made, the following
proceedings were had.
Journal Read, Approved and
signed.
Matter of Petition of Chapman
Timber Co. For Tax Rebate. On
this day it appearing to the Court
fror the Records and from the pe
tition of the Chapman Timber Com
pany, that on the Assessment Roll
for the year 1911, there occurred a
double assessment of the rolling
stock of said Company. It is there
fore ordered by the Court that the
Clerk be, and he is hereby author
ized and instructed to issue a War
rant on the General County Fund,
in the sum of $390.50, in favor of
said Company, being one half of
the taxes paid by said company, as
levied against the said rolling stock
foi the year 1911.
Matter of Petition of Peter Fe
ton, et. at. For Vacation of County
Road. On this 6th day of Novem-
i ber, 1912, comes on for hearing the
j Petition of Peter Felton, et. al.,
j freeholders, residing in the road
j district or districts of said road,!
praying lor the vacation or a por
tion of the St. Helens Deer Island
Road, described as follows:--
Beginning at a point on the St.
Helens and Deer Island Road where
said road leaves Winter Street in
Block 44 in the City of St. Helens,
and more particularly described as
being at the southwest corner of
lot 14 in blocks 44 of said City of
St. Helens, and running thence in a
westerly direction to where said
road intersects the East line of
Hemlock street in said City of St.
Helens.
And it satisfactorily appearing to
the Court from proof filed herein,
that due notice of the pendency of
this proceeding has been given as
by law required, that twelve of 3aid
petitioners are freeholders of this:
county, residing in the road district
of said road, and there appearing to
the Court to be no remonstrance or
other objection to the granting of
said Petition, it is ordered by the
Court that said Petition be, and the
same is hereby allowed, and that
said portion of said county road, as
described, be, and the same is here
by vacated.
Matter of Petition of S. A. Cros
by, et. al. For County Road. On , On this day
this day the report of the Board of
County Road Viewers, on the S. A.
Crosby Road, was read in open
Court the first time.
Matter of Teachers' County In
stitute. On this day it is ordc red
by the Court that the Clerk he and such ballot boxes, that such elect

to Adjournment. Officers all pres
ent Due proclamation being made,
the following proceedings were had:
Matter of Scalp Bounty Claims.
On this day the Clerk presents to
the Court duly verified claims for
Scalp Bounty, being as follows:
Claim No. 46, Walter Parker $14.00
for 7 Wild Cats; Claim No. 47, G.
A. Clark, $2.00 for 1 Wild Cat; and
the Court being advised in the mat
ter, it is ordered by the Court that
said claims be. and the same are
hereby approved.
Matter of Petition of S. A. Cros
by, et. al. For County Road. On
this day this matter coming on to
be heard upon the second reading
of the Report of the Board of Coun
ty Road Viewers, which said report
was publicly read on two different
days of this term of Court, no re
monstrance being filed and Rumely
Products Co. having filed a claim
for damages in the sum of $3.' 0.00.
And the Court being satisfied
that such road will be of public util
ity, the report of the Viewers be
ing favorable thereto, and report
ing no damages in excess of benefits
to be derived, it is ordered by the
Court that said Report be adopted
ana that said report, survey, pro
file and plat be recorded in suitable
books kept for that purpose, and
from thenceforth said road shall be
a public highway.
It is further ordered by the Court
that the road supervisor in whose
district said road is located, shall
open the same for public travel.
Matter of Resignation of Geo.
Olsen as Supervisor of R, D. No.
16. On this day this matter com
ing on for consideration by the
Court, and the Court not being ful
ly advised in the matter, it is order
ed by the Court that said matter be,
and the same is hereby continued.
Matter of Transfer of Funds. On
this day it is ordered by the Court
that the Treasurer be, and he is
hereby instructed to transfer the
sum of $1820.00 from the Special
Fund of Road Disk No. 3, .to the
General Road Fund.
Matter of Petition of M. Fresh
For Tax Rebate. On this day it is
ordered by the Court that the Clerk
be, and he is hereby authorized and
Instructed to issue a warrant on the
General County Fund, in the sum
of $2.02. in favor of M. Fresh, for
taxes paid on Void Deed to Lot 8 to
Block 11, In Vernonia.
Matter of Opening Ballot Boxes.
