    Rainier School Note.
Rainier, Ore., May 25, M2.
The past week has been one full
of Interest not only to the chil.lren
of the public school and students of
the hirh school but to the general
public as well. One week agro last
nijrht the hiffh school students ac
quitted themselves in a very credit
able manner at the Wade Theatre,
In "The Private Secretary." Last
Sunday morning Dr. G. M. Patter
aon, of the Willamette University
delivered the class sermon at the
M. E. Church. On Monday the
Senior Luncheon was griven. On
Tuesday afternoon the high school
picnic was held at the base ball park
at which students from all parts of
the County we're in attendance;
-Wednesday evening the school en
tertainment was griven at the Wade
Theatre; Thursday the Juniors en
tertained the Seniors: last night was
the culmination of the most suc
cessful series of annual school exer
cises ever held in this city, when
the commencement exercise? were
given at the Conjrregational church.
The graduating class consisted of
Mary Frances Nadeau, Esther Min
erva Dawson and Harry Ernest Rice, j
The exercises were opened by music
from the local orchestra, followed
by the invocation by Rev. C. T
Cook. Gretchen Moeck sang a
vocal solo which was heartily en
cored. Harry Ernest Rice deliver
ed an oration on "Commercial Pos
sibilities of the Pacific Northwest"
which for its accumulation of statis
tics was fairly bewildering, and
showed the wonderful resources and
great future possibilities of the
Pacific Coast and especially Oregon.
Esther Minerva Dawson took for
her subject "Helen Keller," who
although deaf, dumb and blind, has
accomplished more than many peo
ple who have retained all their facul
ties. Miss Dawson jihowttl a
