fishing for smelt over in the Cowlitz
River and caught some fish. He
returned to St. Helen Sunday with
his launch loaded don with smelt,

business connected with a powder
works in which he is interested.

Jama Fitzgerald of Yankton was
arrested Inst Monday on a statutory
charge and had his examination le

Mr. Kilpack, an agent of the
Roys and Cirls Aid Society of Port
land, sjent a few hours in the city

Prof. Reno, the magician, held
forth in tho City Hall Tuesday
evening and had a large crowd pre
sent to enjoy his magic tricks. The
entertainment consisted of some of
tho latest and most mystifying
tricks and was thoroughly enjoyed
by every one of tho large crowd
of the Willamette and Clackamas
rivers, in the State of Oregon, with
salmon fish: and

to close the said Willamette river,
and its tributaries, below nnd north
of the fall thereof, at Oregon City,

its tributaries, to prevent fishing
therein, by nnv means whatever,
