In order to more effectually pro
vide safeguards against fire, the Com
mon council is nerepy auinorizea to
incur a warrant Indebtedness not to
exceed fifteen hundred dollars, to be
xpended for fire hose cart ladders and
other appliances.
Sidewalks.
Section 1. It shall be the duty of
the Common Council to build and
maintain good and substantial cross-
valks at the intersection of any or all
itreets whereon the people have built
sidewalks or otherwise.
Section 2. The Cotincill Is hereby

by ordinance the owner or owners of

build sidewalks abutting said lot, par
