The first annual fair for Columbia
Comity closed its doors last Saturday
night, and, in spite of the threatening
weather and the fuilure of those who
contracted for the amusement feftturea
it was a success in so far that it drew
people togalber from all parts of tlie
county aud the display ol fruits ana
vegotablcs, grains and grasses, and fancy
needle work, etc., wasoxceedingly good.
The hall in which lha fair waa held is
one bundled feet long by foity feet in
width: Three board tables were con
structed along each aide, two iu the
center of tno nan aim one across tue

w ho had cliaigeof the needle and fancy
work department made a shoa tug that
merited nil the praise it received Thay

opened, aud they certainly did wonders
