nil other money so collected by him to
tctber with the dale of payment of the
same.
Sec. 12- The Marshall (hull be on
duty at all times and shall be under the
diicct supervision of the council at the

Sec. 13. Inasmuch as there is no or

The first annual fair for Columbia
Comity closed its doors last Saturday
night, and, in spite of the threatening
weather and the fuilure of those who
contracted for the amusement feftturea
it was a success in so far that it drew
people togalber from all parts of tlie
county aud the display ol fruits ana
vegotablcs, grains and grasses, and fancy
needle work, etc., wasoxceedingly good.
The hall in which lha fair waa held is
one bundled feet long by foity feet in
width: Three board tables were con
structed along each aide, two iu the
center of tno nan aim one across tue
end gitiug an Immense apace to be
w ho had cliaigeof the needle and fancy
work department made a shoa tug that
merited nil the praise it received Thay
were t.olitied liiut their assistauca wai
tiesired only leu days before tbo fair
opened, aud they certainly did wonders
iu the thort time at their disposal.

fection is made. It is hurriedly gather

Che management is sincerely thunkiul
to all who assisted, and, will, plenty of
time to plan, will endeavor to give Col
uuib a County next year a fair that will
bring together all tne cHiens ol the
County, both young and Old. This will
take work aud money, but we huve re
