Court, on Wednesday, came to an agree
ment willi the Northern I'.icilic railroad
as to Ihe payment of us taxes for 11MI7
and IIH'H. The roadbed was assessed in

Tlie company contended for reduction
to ;5,000 and made a teuder ou that ba
sis, which was refused. Th company
has now paid the 11107 and I'.KiS taxes on
thr I'.MIH valuation as fixed by the connty
board of equalization, the total tax for
lfW amounting to I5,27.S! and the
balance on the I'.lll" tuxes to 8,4.'!3.II.
This is a decided victory for the county
and a credit mark for tin- county board of
equalization, especially when it is remem
bered that the assessment on the same
property in HKWwas $:Ui:t,0O0aiid forllHIH
at ''7ti,M!0. The matter of s rock crusher
for the lower end of the county w as post
poned until the next meeting of the
court, which will lie on Mouday, April
