The Olsen quarry, at the Wikstrom
place, is filling out an order for 000
cubic feet of rough uslilcrrock for parties
in Astoria. It is to be ustd for fence
combing and will certainly be as fine
stone as could !e procured for that pur
pose It is of a lighter color than the
stone in the quarry of the St. Helens
Quarry Company, and would lie a beauti
ful stone for liny massive building.

The auto became so infatuated with St.
Helens a a resting place that it refused
to go farther and the elforts of two doc
tors, a blacksmith ami a coroner were
necessary to induce it to change its mind.

has decided the five cases brought by
the timber men. His decision is that the
assessment of the Blodget Company, the
O. K. I.utulicr Company aud the West
ern Timbor Compuny are equitable and
the plaintiff corporations must pay the
costs. The John West assessment is
changed from the Columbia to the Ne
halem clatftificittion, and the west half ol
sec I ion A north, range 3 west, belonging
to the Benson Lumber Company, !nlso
