today passed the army appropriation
bill, carrying $81.(100,000. The amend
meat which permitted the government
to accept reduced rates on army sur
plies and permitted army officer and
enlisted men to accept reduced tram
porta t ion and an amendment im reusing
by 20 per cent the pay of officers and
enlisted men were defeated on points
of otder.

railway fare, together with a provision

in limited areas.
