years ago the Rhode Island Experiment
Station tested a number of different
methods, and found that salt brine and
lime water stood second only to water-
gla? as a preservative. The eggs were
held over a year In the pickle, and all
came out god. The station reported
as follows : The surface of the liquid
was crusted, and considerable silt had
ettlcd to the bottom of the Jar. The
hells of the eggs which were sunken
in this silt appeared very fresh. The

in size. The whites and yolks were
normal In appearance. The whites beat
up nicely, hut had a slightly saline
