a dangerous weapon. Cnmpliell is well
known to nil old residents of this county,
and we believe he wo at one time county
surveyor here, lie is a man of consider
able ability, but of ungovernable temper,
and was at ull times considered a danger
ous person. He had several scrape here
and no one acquainted with him will be
iiiriirised at the new of his conviclion.

r. Watt ol Scappoose, and shot at him,
but the bullet struck Jim McKay in the
hand. He also shot Mr. S. A. Mile in a
