report that a large lumber flume I soon
to be built from that city to tap a large
tract of fine yellow fir timber, altuated
about five mile soutb of town on Roar
ing creek, a tributary of Conyer creek
and tbe Clatskani river. Rumor ha it

bond on tbe Flippin mill property and
have agents at work viewing a line for
tne nurae ana securing rigfit 01 way
for it. The promoters are known to be
men of energy and financial strength,
which fact, together witb the bui new
like manner in which they are going to
work, greatly en cou races the belief that
ttie enterprise will be successfully pros
ecuted. An enterprise of thi nature
will be of far-reaching advantige to
Clatskanle and vicinity, a it will bring
to market a large tract oi valuable tim
ber, "iiesides giving employment to 200
or 800 men, thereby creating pay-roll
which will be the agency through which
a great deal of money will be circulated
in that part of tbe county.

according to the quantity of butter fat
