deal, which, it said, may result In a
combine and a subsequent rise in

A new phase in the salmon-canning

the ran of eockeyes being large, but if

with it, owing to the shortage of tin
plate. Not a aingle box of tin plate

Across the line it has been very scarce,
and the market is now depleted.

incorporated at Moscow, Idaho, called
tbe Idaho Grain & Seed Cleaning
Company, to handle the grain-clean
ing mill which bat lately been intro
duced. This company baa bought the
right to sell this machine in tbe three
states of Idaho, Montana and Wyom
ing. The mills cill be manofactuied
at Walla Walla, but tbe tale of thee
mill will be made from Moeoow.

A new industiy ha been established
at Trail, B. C. A. C Luff and Rich
ard Tunswell bare installed at that
place a brick-making plant, which is
now in complete running order and ia
turning out 20,000 buck a day.
There is so a great a demand for brick
that tbe advisability of adding machin
ery sufficient to increase the plant to a
capacity of 40,000 per day it being con

The gaa company at Butte, Mont.,
will at once put in the best and new
est plant that money can buy, thereby
doubling the capacity of the present
plant. Tbe new plant will also pro
duce a higher J caudle-power gas.
The plant is so planned that it can
be extended aa tbe city grows without
requiring reconstruction, as ia the case
with the present outlit.

The Montana Smoke Condensing
Company, of Miseoula, Mont, has been
incorporated by Charles Eaton, H. W.
McLaughlin and William F. Hughes.

leasing appliances designed to control,
destroy or condenee gases, fumes, va-
pors and smoke.

The Union creamery and cheese fac
tory at Union has been completed and
ia now in operation. The plant ia situ.
a ted in tbe eastern part ol the city and
it veiy. conveniently located for the
creamery business. It has a capacity
for handling the milk from 800 to 500
cows, and will no doubt prove of great
benefit to the farmer and dairymen of
that vicinity.

James Pye, representing a Minneap
olis manufacturing firm, is in Lewis-
ton, Idaho, making estimate for the
machinery for tbe new 125-bairel mill.
It is tbe intention of the proprietor to
let the contract for the building ai
