J. M. Russell, a Portland speculator
In wool, returned Tuesday from a tour
through Idaho and Eastern Oregon,
where he hsd been examining into the
condition of last spring's clip. He
found the wool not quite up in quality
to that ol last year, as the dry fall ol
18U7 had caused it to ret full of duet
on the aheop's back. It is, therefore,
not so bright, while being heavier in
weight. Mr. Russell says the reason
no wool has been bought so far this
season ia that there is a difference ol
three cents between buyer and seller,
and the sheepraisers are in pretty good
shape financially, and therefore able to
hula tor a while.
