Lincoln County Record: Messrs.
Bonner A Hammond have commenced
the expenditure of $20,000 in putting
tlieir new purchase, the Oregon Pa
ciAo railroad, in first class order to ac
commodate the rapidly increasing
tratllo. Already the freight over the
road ia more than can be handled by
the present line of steamers, and it is
reported that negotiations are being
made to increase the number of vet
eel be l wee o here and Ban Franrisco.
It ia evident that Bonner oV Hammond
are confident that the decision of the
supreme court will sustain the pur
chase. Ai aoon aa the decision i
rendered new ilenfon will be made
and upward of $80,000 will be ex
ended immediately. Thia will make
lively time along the line of the road
and especially al the ocean terminus.
