men, who executed a bond for $10,000, to
recover the shortage.

against loss only by any negligence or

the county court of Columbia county, by
law, should have requieed an additional
bond from Massie. a a tax bond.
It was on these pleading that judgment

Shsttuck beld that this int was properly
made. Tbe court said that "the doctrine
of surety is very explicit. A surety is en
titled to the exact contract mad, without
diminution or addition. The county court
of Columbia county has erred in not re
quiring a tax collection bond, and these
bondsmen are not liable." The court
further found that the weight of leal
authorities which bad been submitted in
this case favored the sureties.
