Hillsboro had no exercises but the people
went to other places and assisted in swell
in the crowds. Cornelius had a very large
crowd and the usual exercises for auch oc
casions. Uen. Thorpe, ot f orest urove,
was orator of the day, and delivered a very
interesting address. Senator Huston spoke
at Mountaindale. Senator Tongue was
billed for an address at Ashland, but owing
to railroad suspension was unable to reach
that place.

Resale ot the Strike.
New York, July 15 Among tbe
reDliee received by the World to a re
quest for views aa to tbe Pullman
strike, waa tbe following Irom tne
Chicaeo Tribune:
"I believe that the strike will be of
treat benefit to the country. It is
like a thunder etorm that suddenly
sweeps up, purifies tbe atmosphere
aod results in a better supply of health
giving oxone. It will result in con
gress devising laws whereby disputes
oetwoen railroads ana tneir emyioyes
will be harmoniously adjusted. I have
ereat faith in the Aoglo-eaxun race to
govern themselves. The people have
been asleep until awakened by this
economic earthquake. I believe that
in twelve months we will have laws
that will provide for the full settle
ment of future' disorders. I think
that the contract system can be sue
cesefully applied by the railroads.
Employes should be engaged under
contract and bold their positions so
long as they abide by tbe rules of tbe
company and perform their duties
faithfully. No man should be dis
charged without due notice, and no
man should leave the employ of the
company without serving notice,
I endorse the plan evolved by the
huge brain of Bismarck in tbe German
empire.

"My little boy was very bad off for two
months with diarrhoea. We used various
itierMriues, also called in two doctors, but
nothing done him any good until we used
Chamberlain's Colio, Cholera and Diarrhoea
remedy, which gave Immediate relief and
soon cured him. I consider it the best
medicine made and can conscientiously
recommend it to all who need a diarrhoea
or colio medioine. J. B. Hare, Trenton,

Independence vicinity is 784 acres,
and the amount of spring planting is
240 acres, making a grand total of
1124 acres. Last year there was har
vested from this acreage over 560,000
pounds of hops, which brought a rev
enue of more than $100,000.

Last fall I was taken with a kind of sum
mer oomplainr, accompanied with a won
derful diarrhoea. Soon after, my wife's
sister, who lives with us, was taken in the
tame way. We used almost everything
without benefit. Then I said, let lit try
cihamberlain't Colio. Cholera and Diarrhoea
remedy, wbloh we did, and that cured us
right away. I think much of it, as it did
lor me woat it was recommended to uo.
