As I have taken over absolute and controlling
interest of the St Helens Garage, I am now equipped
and .ready to give you absolute and satisfaction
service and the pleasure of motoring. I have had
some 10 years experience in this game and have
studied it hard for the advantage of the public.
We are also in position to give you accurate and
first-class night and day service, but after May 1st
we will be on a different running basis, as I have quite
a good deal of remodeling to do to give the service
I expect to in the ne"ar future.

OrrlCIAL EXPLANATION OP TABLS
Column 3 represent, the net income to the State Highway Fund from motor vehiclt
liceme feet (Chap. 399, l.awi 1919). The 1920 registration figurei to date obtained from
ihe Secretary of State's office indicate an average license fee of twenty dollars ($20.00)
per vehicle. The law provides that twenty-five per cent be returned to the county from
which the vehicle ii registered, therefore the net income per vehicle to the State Highway
Fund U approximately fifteen dollars ($15.00) per car which ii the figure used in com
puting Column 5. The administration expenses of the motor vehicle law will be met from
the receipts from motorcycle licenses, chauffers' badges, transfers, etc.
Column 4 represents the income from the Gasoline Tax (Chap. 159, Laws 1919) (0 the
State Highway Fund. Figures obtained from the Secretary of State's office indicate the
sverage tax per vehicle in 1919, was approximately five dollars ($5.00) and this figure
baa been uaed in computing Column 4,
Column 5 is the total amount of the motor vehicle license fees and the gasoline tax
based on the estimated number of vehicles at shown in Column 2.
Column 6 is the amount required each yer to pay off the interest and principal st ma
turity of Slate Highway bonds up to an estimated amount of $40,000,000 (the approxi
mate amount which could be issued with a 4 per cent limit on the prnent assessed valua

Laws 1919), now unsold will be sold during the vear 1920. Also (hat further bonds will

1924; $2,200,000; 1 lotsl of $40,000,000.
All of 'the bonds thus far authorised are serial bonds and, except the Bean-Barrett
issue, mature one-twentieth each year after the fifth year. The Bean-Barrett issue matures
$100,000 each year beginning with 1922. The Six Million snd Bean-Barrett issues draw
4 per cent Interest. All other issues 4'i per cent.
