Seaside ConstrucMon work on the
Hammond Lumber Company logging
road has commenced and the build
ing of the camps Is under way and
the right-of-way for the railroad
grade Is being cleared. Reports from
the San Francisco offices of the com
pany are that fully 18,000 acres of
spruce and fir timber will be opened
up and logged, the greater portion of
tho cut being tributary to Seaside.
The estimate of output at the Ham
mond camps is put at 130,000 feet of
spruce and fir dally and this will bo
used almost exclusively for war materials.
