the crew's dissatisfaction with the
cook. As to the merits of the con
troversy I have nothing to say. but
when men who have come from a
distance and who are receiving good
pay ayid doing good work complain
of unsatisfactory food conditions the
wise employer remedies the condi
tions. , The commission saw fit to
retain the cook, who, with the head
boss and timekeeper, were left on the
job, though there were no men to
cook for or time to keep, and while
they aro an expense to the people
the work on our road is not being
done and our hope of competent
handling of this road fund is only a
dream. There is no argument about
