CARD OF THANKS
We wish to extend our thanks to
the friends, and especially the Wo
men of Woodcraft, for the beautiful
floral pieces that were presented to
the late William Gray, who was
drowned June 15 and laid to rest
June 29 at Clatskanle. Ore. Such
kindness will always bo remem
bered by the grief Btrlcken parents,
brothers and Bisters.
Mil. AND MRS. A. C. GRAY,
CHANDLER, HENRY, MARION,
NOMA AND NELLIE GRAY.
We have just received a carload of these famous cars. One
outstanding improvement in these late models is the extra
wheel carried. It does away with the annoyance of changing
tires, squeaky wheels and broken rims. This fifth wheel carried
can be easily changed in three minutes.
THE NEW MAXWELLS
have all the Conveniences of a more expensive car self starter,
t-lectric lights, fine upholstery and comfortable, roomy seats.

MORE THAN GOOD
The city is having a tower built
for the purpose of drying the fire I
hose. It Is being built on the south
side of the city hall.
Always trade in your home town.
Columbia county did more than its
quota for the Red Cross. It wciA
$4,000 over. This is a credit to the!
county, but part of this credit.Nabout
61 per cent of it, should he clven !
to the men and women of the county
who left everything and worked their
beads off to get the desired results.
Tho people gave freely and generous
ly, but someone had to go after them.
American peoplo will come across;
fast enough for any good cause if'
someone goes to them, and in this'
Instance someone went to them and
stayed with them. . Business men,
professional men, workers, house
keepers, in fact all of the designated
workors dropped their personal du
ties and went after tho Red Cross
work. The fact that Inutead of rais
ing the $2,500 allotted, Columbia
county sent in $6,600 for the work
of mercy and humanity goes to show
that workers and worked all aided
In the Red Cross campaign. Is there
any other county which did better?
I will sell for cash or trade for
cattle, cows, calves, sheep, pigs or
goats,
