Mrs. Wright of Taeoma and Misa Richardson of Dayton, Wash., are vis iting their cousin in this city, Mrs C H John Little Pucan Holiday, son of Mr and Mre Joe Holiday was seriously injured last week when he fell and broke the bones in hia wrist,. He waa brought to this city for medical treatment and it is hoped that no serious consequenc es will result. P II Urakke went to Astoria on Wed nesday for a short stay. Mr. Biakke's parents live at Astoria. Newell Sherwood and little daughter of Bachelor Flat were in the city on Thursday. A T Laws was in Warren on Thurs day. Mrs Ed Stanwood has been quite sick with mumps. Mrs I N Shatto of Portland, is vis iting with her daughter, Mrs Eugene Blakesley of this place who ia quite sick. Mr and MrsWm Phillip and daughter Miss Gertrude were in Portland on Wednesday. MrSegarlin C Knighton and wife of LaCenter. Wash were in St Helens on business this week. Mr Knighton ia the (eldest son of J M KDighton the founder of St Helens. Mrs William Ross has been quite ill during the week. The ladies of the Episcopal Guild will hold their reeular meeting on April 15th. Mr and Mrs Peter Felton are visit irg in Portland with relatives this week. Mr and Mrs C S Roake of Castle Rock, Wash, visited with Mr and Mrs A A Galichio over Sunday. Mrs Roak is a cousin of Mrs Gallichio. Mr and Mrs Ennet Robinson were in Portland visitors Saturday. Miss Cora Cover of Portland visited with Mrs. R. C. Williams Tuesday and Wednesday of this week. Miss Cover recently came from West Virginia. She is a concert violinist, but has come to Oregon to help in the great campaign to make Oregon dry. The Epworth League will serve a 15c supper in the parlors of the M. E. Church next Wednesday evening, April 15, from five o'clock to seven. Every body come. The Ladies Aid Society of the M. E. Church will meet with Mrs H W Chris tie Wednesday, April 15. The ' Bachelor Flat Sunday School will give an Easter program Easter Snuday in the school house at 2 p. m., all cordially invited to attend. E I Ballagh went to Astoria Wednes day where he will spend a few days looking after the interests of the Co lumbia River Rackers Association. Mr E G Ditto of Portland was in St Helens Tuesday. Mr Ditto is a mem ber of the Vernon Furniture Co, a firm which deals in second hand furniture. His is one of the large firms of the ?ast side of Portland and he is looking aroun i the country for a location to on a branch store. Drs. Lowe and Turner, Eye Special ists of Portland will be in St. Helens again Monday, April 20th. Mr. and Mrs. Geo. E. Bcnnell of Kalama Wash .v isi ted a few days at the home of Rev. and Mrs. F J Meyer in this city this week;. Mrs Bennell is a sister of Mrs. Meyer. Mrs Nutting of Columbia City was a visitor in this city during the week. Mr. and Mrs. Galichio nf Portland visited over Sunday in St. Helen with Mr and Mrs. A. A. Gailchio. Mrs. A. W. Mueller and Mrs Pender gast returned this week from Minnenp olis where they have been visiting for several months. Peter Lousignont of Scappoose was a business visitor in St. Helens Wed nesday. The new confectionery and ice cream parlor opened up last week in the Ruth erford building by Mr. Mason ia an attractive establishment. The place is fitted up with especial lighting facil ities and tables aa well as counters. It is neat and clean and Mr. Mason ia al ready getting a trade which prcmiu-f to make of the business a success from the start. He serves ice cream, soft drinks, waffles and lunches. Mrs Knighton of Seattle is visiting at the heme of Mr and Mrs Gerdes in this cit. Mrs Imogen Harding Brodie and two little children of Poitland visited with Mrs J George on Thursday. Mrs Wilbur Muckle went to Clats kanie Thursday to meet her husband who has been out in the county selling horses the past week. Mr and Mrs J S Allen were in Port land on Wednesday. Miss Leona Perkins was a Portland visitor on last Saturday. J George, Chas Muckle and Dr Zip perer went to Fortland on Thursday evening to see the lights extinguished in the Scottish Rites Cathedial. Peter Felton is building a neat little cottage on the lot next to Dan Richard son. Miss Edna Harris went to Portland on Wednesday to attend the wedding of her cousin Earl Minor. Mrs E T Luther and Miss Elsie Philip entertained Mrs Luther's Sunday School class on Wednesday evening with a party on the beach. The young-' sters played gamef and roasted marsh-; mallows and had a jolly time.
