Of irse there are some papers o cater to and delight in pub- tiirif sensational BtulT and be irching the character of men odn not support them or agree th their ideas of conducting itTairs of the public. There no reason why a paper should t criticise and comment on any ion of public men. but when h stuff as was printed in the 'tlaml paper this week is sent 'h no signature, the paper it- f should be required to show truth of the uccusationa or ") heavily in damages, as well being accountable to the minal laws of the state for the plication of such rot. It this issue is published an ordinance passed by the city Council last Monday which raises the saloon license from $;()() to $SiH) per annum. This is the only change made in the exist mg ordinances, and w hat effect it will have is problematical The apparent object of the raise in license is to eliminate one or two of the saloons at present opei ating here, so that with only two or even three of these places it w ill be much easier to see that the laws are strictly olwyed. At least that is the information handed out by some of the parties interested in getting the raise made, but it would seem that if that is the object, the small raisu of !Uuo per year will not accom plish the purpose. If the object sought can be attained by this method, the raise should be suffi cient that it would truly eliminate one or two of the saloons, while this way all the saloons now operating will continue and if any change will be noticed, it will be for the worse. We have never thought of buying any other kind of a wagon." "It's true, we're continually being offered other wagons costing a little less, with lots of promise as to what they will do. Dut we ?nou in our family what a Studebaker will do. A few dollars difference in price doesn't mean much. It 'a the service a wagon gives that we consider most." "Long service for a fair price means more every time than short service for a few dollars less." That's why we stick to Studebaker and "Stick to Stude baker' is a pretty good motto for a man who uses wagons." "Studebaker wagons are built of good stuff. They'r mado right by people who'vs had years and years of esperiencs in making them right peopls who ars trusted Jhs world over.' "Studebaker wagons last, becauaa they're mads to lait" "Look out for th dealer who tells you his wagon is just as good as a Studebaker.
