carried were the one combining
the city recorder with the clerk of
the water commission and the one
permitting the water commission to
invest the surplus funds in city
bonds, all others losing. The or
dinance removing the limit of the
number of saloons, referred by
petition of the people, lost ou
that the limit still remains, only
four saloons being permitted until
the population reaches 2500,
