Hoys ranginir in atre from 12 to 20 congregato every evening on some street corner or in front of some building in the city and there do things, nay things and learn things which would better be left undone, unsaid and un learned. Swearing, cigarette smoking and other dirty habitu are contracted at these nightly meetings. This custom no doubt has prevailed from time imme morial and will no doubt continue for all time, but some step should be taken to discourage such things. It would be a good in vestment for the city to equip some place where boys who a re determined to go about the street of evenings could go and spend a profitable evening. Some such place as would be interesting to them and yet not a place whert vjle thoughts, actions and sny jngs would prevail, There are boys who would not go to such a place, but there are others who would, and in the end many boys would be better men by having such a place to go and break away from old associates and vile practices. Last fall when the Grange Fair was in progress at Yankton there was much discussion over a county fair. Propositions were made and suggestions olTered, ill of which were taken seriously ity the people interested. Since that time, however, nothing more has been heard f tho project.
