James Hunt is back in St. Helens on a visit with his friends. Mrs. Wilbur Muckle was a Port land visitor during the week. Mrs. Goo.tman, of Batchlor Flat, vi.vted in St. Helens Wednesday. Miss Laura Barber visited with friends at Banks, Ore., last week. Mrs. Bessie Peters visited a few days with relatives in Portland this week. T. A. Cloninger, of Scappoose, visited in St. Helens during the week. Miss Amy George visited with relatives and friends in Portland on Thursday. Frank Miles came down from Portland this morning to look after business matters. W. E. Stevens, of Scappoose, is looking after business matters in St. Helens today, "Nicodemus, the Seeker after Religion," Sunday morning 11:00 a. m., Congregational church. Mrs. Wellington leaves today for San Francisco where she will visit with friends for several weeks. Mr. and Mrs. A. H. George and Miss Ada returned home on Thurs day from Portland after a two weeks visit with relatives. "The Meaning of Congregation alism," subjebt of discourse at the Congregational church on next Sunday evening. Editors C. A. Nutt of the Rai nier Review, and W. G. Bayless of the Clatskanie Chief, were business visitors in St. Helens Wednesday. Conductor J. H. Dobbins, wife Wise and Otherwise and two little daughters, Lola V. and 0. Faye, visited with his mother, Mrs. R. J. Frakes this week end and also at New Year's dinner. George Conyers. the county sur veyor, has been spending the week in St. Helens. George is Very much improved in health and says he feels better than for many years. He has many friends here who are pleased to see him around again able to attend to business. L. E. Allen spent several days in Portland this week. D. Ernest Randall, the noted lec turer and cartoonist, will appear at the City Hall next Monday night. January 16th. This is one of the legular lyceum numbers and should be attended by a large crowd of people. Mrs. E.A.Thompson returned last week from Portland where she has been confined in a hospital for several months, Her many friends are pleased to see her home much improved in health. The St Helens Mist and Rainier Review have been officially named as the County official papers for 1914. The proceedings of the Court will also be published in the Clatskanie Chief the same as in the official papers. Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Rotger re turned Wednesday from San Fran cisco where they spent the holidays with relatives. They returned on the Steamer Beaver.
