850 sq. ft., while a two-bed
room deluxe is 1,250 sq. ft.,
and a two-bedroom executive
is 1,400 sq. ft.
“Our units are a lot bigger
than most of the other apart
ments around here per
square footage; we’re the best
pretty much in town,” said
Doris Gale, the manager of
McKenna Estates.
McKenna Estates also en
sures that the complex is quiet
during the night so tenants can
study or sleep peacefully.
“I have quiet hour, so from
10 at night to eight o’clock in
the morning is quiet hour,”
Gale said.
The apartments have laun
dry hookups, extended cable
television, air conditioning, a
gas fireplace, a balcony and
covered parking. Water, sewer
and garbage are included with
the rent, which is $650 for a
one-bedroom apartment,
$795 for a two-bedroom deluxe
apartment and $850 for a two
bedroom Executive The apart
ments also have several ameni
ties such as a basketball court,
an exercise room, a community
room and tennis courts.
TYaditionally, McKenna Es
tates is not known for its stu
dent life but rather for
family life.
“We don’t have four ten
ants who are 17 years old.
This place is more for grad
students and families,” said
Joshua Lucas, a University
graduate student in physics
and mathematics.
Chase Village was built on a
garden owned by the Chase
family, who used to grow vari
ous strains of roses. The fami
ly’s original home is used as
the clubhouse.
Chase offers many services
and amenities for its tenants.
Some notable services include

service and free auto service. It
also has free tanning, two
pools, two spas, a hair salon, a
sand volleyball court, a
basketball court, 24-hour
workout facilities, and a car
wash and air station.
The apartments are a nice fit
for University students looking
to complement their college ex
perience by living in a place
that provides a comfortable
living style.
“We treat the students who
live here with respect,” said
Kimberly Edmonds, a leasing
consultant at Chase Village.
“We also have little noise.”

I he Commons are
kind of like living in a larger dorm. There are
always people around and there are always
people in my house,” freshman Alicia Brad
shaw said. “I like living in the Commons. It
puts students of the same age around each
other, and it is a really good experience even if
you are a freshman living off campus.”
The complex offers an assortment of
alarm system.
Like Duck’s, University Commons has indi
vidual leases and a student-matching system
to pair roommates with similar interests.
University Commons offers specials on four
bedroom apartments for students who have
already selected their roommates. University
Commons has one, two and four bedroom
apartments with a 12 or 10-month lease.
