McKenna Estates and Chase Village defy college apartment
stereotypes with quiet environments and numerous amenities
BY CHRIS FUNK
DAILY EMERALD FREELANCE REPORTER
When students think of the apartments
by Autzen Stadium, they often imag

nal; a place where residence hall life and the real
world combine to create a reality where the cen
ter of the universe is a bright, shiny keg. They
might also imagine these apartments to be a
place where a student lives if he or she wants to
neglect academic duties. However, imaginations
can often be wrong.
There are two apartment complexes in the
Autzen Stadium vicinity that don’t cater to the
stereotypes of rowdy college apartment living.
These complexes are McKenna Estates and
Chase Village.
The location of these complexes is ideal for
students. The Lane Transit District bus system
provides easy access to and from campus every
half-hour from 7:30 a.m. to 6:22 p.m. Autzen
Stadium and the University are within walking
distance, a blessing to anyone who has attempt
ed to park close to the stadium during game
day or tried to find a parking spot on campus
before a midday class.
McKenna Estates boasts the largest units of
all the apartments near Autzen Stadium. For a
one-bedroom apartment, the square footage is

rooms. Each unit also features its own private patio and personal storage unit. Students and adults alike are often
attracted to Chase Village.
