Floater to perform in Eugene,
its old stomping grounds
Floater will perform Friday at the
McDonald Theatre, located at 1010
Willamette St. Originally formed in Eu
gene in 1993, the band consists of
Robert Wynia on lead vocals and
bass, Peter Cornett on drums and
Dave Amador on guitar.
Floater's first full-length album,
"Sink," was released in 1994. That
year, according to the band's Web
site, Floater began a string of sold out
shows at the WOW Hall. The group
released "Glyph" in 1995,followed by
"Angels in the Flesh and Devils in the
Bone" in 1998 and "Burning Sosobra"
in 2000.
Floater continued to produce
albums and in 2002 came out with
"Alter," which band members
describe as their most critically ac
claimed album to date. The group's
latest album, an acoustic one appro
priately titled "Acoustics," was re
leased in 2004.
Tickets are currently on sale online
at mcdonaldtheatre.com and at all
TicketsWest outlets. Prices are $12 in
advance. Doors open at 8 p.m. and the
show starts at 9 p.m. The show is
open to all ages.
