Broadway • 393-0703 (Corner of Franklin & Hilyard) Hours: Sun-Thu 6 am - 9 pm Fri-Sat 6 am - 10 pm on Interstate 5 about 20 miles south of Portland after a confrontation with the driver of the other car, police said at the time. Williams, of Los Banos, Calif., was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. Jurors in Clackamas County have been reviewing evidence in the case and hearing testimony for the past two weeks. “The grand jury deliberated and decided there was not sufficient evidence to find either driver criminally liable in this case,” Clackamas County Deputy District Attorney Brian Brock said. The pickup was driven by Williams’ uncle, 40-year-old Michael Keyes of Harrisburg, Ore., a former football player at Oregon State. Keyes and Jason Williams, Justin’s brother, were taken to Portland area hospitals with minor injuries after the accident. Timothy Senske, 27, the driver of the other vehicle, and his passenger, Sonjulaine Jurasz, 34, were uninjured. Williams, who majored in business management, was expected to compete for playing time this fall. He was listed third on the depth chart at right cornerback at the start of spring practice. Williams lettered and started three years at wide receiver and cornerback for the Los Banos High School Tigers, and was the team’s most valuable player during his senior year. Court to issue ruling on state pension plan SALEM — The Oregon Supreme Court will issue an eagerly awaited rul ing today on the legality of the Legisla ture’s cost-cutting reforms to the public employees’ pension plan. The changes pared back payouts for the state’s 300,000 active and retired government workers, including teachers. The implications of the court’s decision are huge both for public employees and for state and local governments that pay into the Oregon Public Employees Retirement System. The 2003 Legislature passed the re forms at the urging of Democratic Gov. Ted Kulongoski, who said the changes were needed to avert a deficit once estimated to be as high as $17 billion. But union officials who filed the lawsuit challenging the PERS reforms contended the changes were unconstitutional because they violated workers’ contract rights. Further, union officials said the legislative changes could reduce public employees’ pensions by as much as one-third for employees in mid-career. — The Associated Press Stressed about schoolwork?
