Students interested in obtaining an officer’s commission in the United
States Air Force upon graduation may join the Air Force Reserve
Officer Training Corps (AFROTC) program offered through the
department of Air Force Studies at Oregon State University.
The Army recruits health care professionals for direct commission in
the Army Reserve and the Regular Army.
The Criminal Investigation Division (CID) investigates the most significant
and egregious violators of environmental laws. CID refers cases that
pose significant risks to human health and the environment for criminal
prosecutions. CID Special Agents are sworn federal law enforcement
officers with full law enforcement authorities. Today, EPA CID has offices
located in 15 Area Offices and 25 Resident Offices across the country.
CID participates nationwide in over 90 environmental crime task forces
with federal, state and local law enforcement partners.
The Internal Revenue Service is a federal organization with operations
worldwide. Its role is to oversee the nation’s federal tax system, while its
mission is to provide America’s taxpayers top quality service by helping
them to understand and meet their tax responsxibilities.
Parole and Probation (P&P) provides community supervision to adult
offenders sentenced to probation or released on parole. P&P provides
for the safety and protection of the public, while providing offenders the
opportunity to make changes that will prevent continued criminal activity.
Navy officers provide technical, scientific and managerial expertise in
a wide variety of specialties at sea, air and shore around the world.
Portland Fire and Rescue has been serving the citizens of Portland since
1883, and we’re now the largest provider of pre-hospital medical care in
the State of Oregon. We are dedicated to creating a safer community for
Portland residents through emergency response, comprehensive fire and
life safety education, and prevention.
The Oregon Secretary of State Audits Division is responsible for evaluating
the financial condition and operation of more than 100 state agencies
and state-supported institutions. The division’s role includes determining
whether operations are in compliance with/ applicable laws and regulations
and making recommendations to improve the efficiency of state programs.

Special Agent • Special Agents plan and conduct investigations of potential or
suspected criminal violations of environmental laws.
Internal Revenue Agent: An Internal Revenue Agent is a professional accountant
and must meet comprehensive qualification requirements. Internal Revenue
Officer: The incumbent serves as an entry-level Revenue Officer Trainee with
responsibility for developing basic skills in resolving examination and collection
issues of the Small Business/Seif-Employed customers. Tax Specialist: The
incumbent serves as an entry-level trainee with responsibility for developing basic
skills in resolving examination and collection issues of the Wage and Investment or
Small Business/Self Employed customers.
Lane County Adult Parole and Probation is recruiting for interns and
volunteers. The selection process will include a written application and interview.
A criminal background check will be performed prior to making a placement with
Parole and Probation. InternsA/olunteers will observe office visits, home visits, court
proceedings, and jail interviews, and assist in collecting DNA and urine samples

Firefighter positions and various support positions
State Auditor 1: Participate in financial, performance and IT audits, review
prior-year documents, interview agency staff, review applicable laws, policies
and procedures, participate in the development of audit findings and work on
draft audit reports.
An Air Force JAG is an officer in the United States Air Force, as well as a trusted
advocate and counselor. A newly assigned JAG has the early opportunity to litigate,
give one-on-one legal advice to Air Force personnel and commanders, and do legal
research and writing.
The Forest Service will be recruiting to filling over 30 positions throughout the
Pacific Northwest in the Student Career Experience Program (SCEP). This is
a trainee position open to all continuing students who have not graduated. These
positions usually lead to a full time career position when the student is awarded
their degree. SCEP positions to be filled in 2004 are: Archeologist, Botanist, Civil
Engineer, Contracting Specialist, Fishery Biologist, General Biologist (remote
sensing), Forester, Geologist, Human Resource Specialist, Hydrologist,
Information Technologist, Landscape Architect, Land Surveyor, Public Affairs
Specialist, Rangland Management Specialist, Wildlife Biologist.
Naval Aviator/Fighter Pilots, Naval Flight Officers, Law officer positions,
Ground officer positions are available. The officer candidate school is a high
intensity summer internship for 6 to 10 weeks. After completion of the Officer
Candidate School, all positions offer financial assistance for college.
