Movies welcome
holiday season
Several promising films
will open this Thanksgiving
weekend, while others may
fall short of expectations
By Ryan Nyburg

The Thanksgiving weekend marks
the start of the holiday movie season,
for better or worse. It's the time of year
when the studios start throwing out
their Oscar hopefuls alongside the
family-oriented holiday fare, creating
an interesting, if sometimes noxious,
mix for filmgoers. Here are a few of
the films coming out across the coun

live-action offering, "The Haunted

Eugene will host several

By Ryan Nyburg

Tofurky has run out, these lost souls
will not be without entertainment
over the holiday. Here are a few
events happening around Eugene
during the weekend.
On Friday, singer/songwriter Erik
Muiderman will be performing a free
show at Luna. His set begins at 7
p.m. and will run until 8:30 p.m. At
