Similarly, the Athletic Department
Finance Committee has the responsi
bility of allocating money to the ath
letic department in exchange for stu
dent tickets.
The Student Senate, which is com
posed of 18 student senators, con
firms the budget distributed by the
three groups allocating the money.
The Constitutional Court's job is to
get involved when something goes
wrong. For example, the five mem
bers of the court, who are chosen by
the Executive president and con
firmed by the Senate, mediate any
grievances that occur within the
ASIIO. Also, it deals with election dis
putes, and monitors ASUO branches
and programs.
Finally, the Associated Student
Presidential Advisory Committee is
responsible for updating and inform
ing University President Dave Frohn
mayer about events that may concern
students. The group is composed of
16 representatives from a wide variety
of programs and departments.

broad range of students who might
have special interests," George said.
She added that the organization
also wants to work with professors
and departments to facilitate special
study programs that cater to particu
_ lar academic needs.
AHA chose to seek a closer affiliation
with the University because of proximity
and a long, rich relationship with the
University, George said.
The University has been AHA's
biggest client, and the organization
would benefit from the stability of
being associated with an institu
tion of the University's caliber,
she added
"We have worked long and well
with the University and the Office of
International Programs," she said.
In the same vein, Selby said AHA
recognizes the University's commit
ment to international education.
"It's identified right at the top of
the list of the University's mission,"
he said.
