On or off campus,
housing plans vary
Students have various living options around
Eugene for next year. One of those options is
the residence halls. Students say living in on
campus housing is convenient because it’s close
to everything, and they don’t have to worry
about cooking their own meals.
“I chose to live in the dorms next year be
cause neither my roommate nor I have a car;
this way we don’t have to walk back to our
apartment late at night, and it’s just more con
venient,” freshman Lauren Weiner said.
There are also apartment complexes off
campus such as Ducks Village, the University
Commons and Chase Village, which were
built specifically for students. They are all lo
cated across the Willamette river, close to
Autzen Stadium. About 1,600 students live in
these complexes.
