ing editor and reporting positions in

photo editor and photographer; de
sign editor and graphic designers;
copy chiefs and copy editors; free
lance editor; editorial editor, colum
nists and illustrators; an online editor
and a webmaster, we provide indi
viduals with a wonderful environ
ment to hone journalistic skills and
all positions are paid.
Qualified applicants will be enrolled
at the University of Oregon for the
03-04 school year. Applicants need
not have previous experience, al
though similar professional or edu
cational experience is recommend
ed.

sponsibility for the overall planning
and operation of the advertising
department, including display,
classified, and online sales.
Job duties include recruiting and
training student sales reps, creat
ing and implementing operating
procedures, developing sales pro
motions, and maximizing revenue
in existing publications and new
ventures. Successful applicant
will possess thorough understand
ing of print media ad sales, ability
to coach sales reps to meet goals,
and ability to analyze, interpret
and utilize marketing data. Must
be comfortable in a fast-paced,
deadline-oriented, computer
based office.
Bachelor’s degree required. Excel
lent communication and customer
relation skills are essential. High
value will be placed on experience
in ad sales, management ability,
experience at a college newspa
per and knowledge of the universi
ty environment.
Compensation is a combination of
base pay, commission and bene
fits.
