AmeriCorps is the national service program that provides community
service opportunities across the country. AmeriCorps members help
meet the nation’s critical needs. Education is a major focus of many
AmeriCorps programs. Members have the opportunity to earn a
modest living allowance, health care, childcare benefits and an
education award at the end of their designated term of service.
Downtown Events Management, Inc. is a non-profit organization that
produces events in downtown Eugene, including the Eugene
Celebration, First Night Eugene, and Earth Day. Our mission
statement is: "To encourage community building by promoting the
Eugene Celebration and other quality, fun events in downtown
Eugene."

areas and to help build a movement to advance educational
opportunity. After the two year commitment, our alumni remain
advocates for equity in education through a variety of careers, some
remaining in education, others continuing their studies at top-notch
graduate schools, and still others working in a wide variety of fields
including business, medicine, law, public policy, and journalism.

Intern positions include: Marketing, Public Relations, Festival
and Event Management, and Business Administration. Each of
the positions can include the following responsibilities: Creating
marketing related materials, assisting marketing staff, helping
establish and execute programs and events, promoting programs
and events through community and media relations, raising
sponsorship funds and providing on-site support at events. We ask
that interns commit a minimum of 15 hours a week. Qualified
applicants should be interested in or pursuing degree in a related
field. Applicants must be in their Junior or Senior year. We are
seeking applicants who are responsible, motivated, detail oriented,
competent with computers, good communicators with excellent
writing skills and flexibility.

Agriculture, Environment, Community Development, Health,
Business, Information Technology, or Primary, Secondary and
University Education, and HIV/AIDS Awareness.
