A perfect dose of the Sweet Life Review by Liz Carson and Keri Spangler This quaint little patisserie is here to serve you. With a friendly smile, the staff of the Sweet Life Patisserie serves a case full of decadence to help fulfill your sweet tooth. In the heart of downtown Eugene, the shop offers luscious and beautiful desserts made from scratch, ranging from petit fours to five-tiered wedding cakes. To complement any torte or cookie, the Sweet Life also of fers a wide variety of beverages. Coffee lovers will enjoy well priced mochas and other specialty drinks. For the non-coffee drinkers, there are the popular Italian sodas and refreshing iced teas. One of the many aspects that set the Sweet Life apart from other cafes is their ability to cater to all appetites. They offer a wide variety of vegan and wheat-free desserts and pastries. This shop makes a perfect fit into the Eugene community with its natural ingredients and laid-back ambiance. We were further impressed once we tasted the sweet life. The freshness of the strawberries in the seasonal fruit tart ful filled all expectations. The strawberries combined with the custard made it a taste to savor. The other dessert we sampled was a richly crafted choco late dream. The chocolate cookie crust nicely accented the almond filling. The density of the torte will leave you satis fied but with half of it still on the plate. While enjoying the finely crafted desserts, the choice of decorations caught our eye. Pictures of tempting cakes hung I from the walls. In the midst of the desserts and pastries are selections of breads, candy and even clothing. Displayed above the pictures are t-shirts with an image of a three-tiered cake under the words of the shop’s name. These eye-catch ing shirts can be a nice souvenir from your trip into the Sweet Life. 1 016118 • 884 East 13th • 289 West 11th • 669 West 7th •215 Division Street • 241 Highway 99 N. • 3220 Gateway / Springfield • 2805 Chad Drive • 4295 Barger Drive • 1505 Mohawk St • 4198 Main St.
