Winter 2003
These workshops are designed to provide insights about effective performance in
organizations. Concepts introduced and practiced in the workshops are “from the
field” and presented by professionals from a wide array of organizations.
Participation in these unique learning opportunities is open to all currently enrolled
UO students, but you must preregister with the Career Center to reserve a seat.

Ethical Leadership Luncheon

Presented by Cintas Corporation
What should you do when given a task you find unethical? How do you choose a
career and lead groups without violating your code of ethics? Come hear about
ethical challenges in the business world from Jeff Jones, NW Group Vice-President.
He will discuss how to address such challenges and respond to your questions.
Motivating Others

Presented by Country Insurance and Financial Services
Operating in a team environment, whether for work or school, presents many
challenges. We will discuss how to get everyone on the team to do their part
without constant oversight. The second focus will be on encouraging staff, which is
particularly apt for officers and leaders of student groups!
Conflict Resolution
Wednesday, February 26
4:00 pm -6:00 pm • EMU Alsea Room
Presented by Looking Glass Youth & Family Services
On the job disagreements are inevitable; losing your temper is not. Good leaders must
be able to resolve such conflicts while maintaining an effective working environment.
We will cover the basics of conflict resolution, which are applicable in both your
personal and professional life, allowing you to get along with (almost) anyone.
Refreshments are provided at each workshop!
