ty that campus is safe.”
Madden said Mortar Board and
members of the greek system have
shown interest in participating.
James George, of the Interfratemi
ty Council, said his fraternity, Delta
Sigma Phi, participates in the program
because it is important for people to
feel safe on campus at night.
“If people feel uncomfortable
walking around campus at night, the
program can ease that apprehen
sion,” he said. “It’s sort of that ‘take
back the night’ attitude.”
And Madden said once the pro
gram gets going again, pairs of volun
teers will be expected to work the
same shift every week for two-hour
time blocks. Shifts will be Sunday
through Thursday from 8 p.m. to
midnight and on Friday and Satur
day from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m.
“We just really hope to get the
program up and running again,”
Hicks said.
The Yellow Jackets will have a
training session Sunday from 2
p.m. to 6 p.m. in 146 Straub, and
Madden said interested parties
are welcome.
Madden said if people can’t make
it to training, they can still partici
pate in the program by contacting
the Yellow Jackets or filling out an in
terest form on the DPS Web site.

Civil War Student Ticket Lottery - November 13
Lottery Sign-Ups - November 11-12
Casanova Center Ticket Office
A lottery for student tickets for the UO-OSU game in Corvallis will be
held on November 13. UO students must sign up in person for
the lottery only at the Casanova Center Ticket Office on
MONDAYNOVEMBER 11 and TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 12.
UO student ID is required.
Winning lottery ID numbers will be posted at the Cas Center Ticket
Office and the EMU Ticket Office on Thursday, November 14.
Lottery winners will have the opportunity to purchase a maximum of
two student tickets. Students must present student ID to pick up
and purchase tickets. Tickets cost $30 each and can only be picked
up and paid for at the Cas Center Ticket Office. Tickets must be
paid for by Wednesday, November 20 or the tickets will be released.
Casanova Center Ticket Office hours M-F, 9am-5pm.
