To find one of the most elegant restau
rants in Eugene you have to look just
behind a car dealership.
The Waterfront Bar & Grill has been
around for a long time, but recently other
businesses have popped up around it and
detracted from its visibility from
Centennial Blvd. From campus, just take
Franklin to the Feriy St. Bridge and then
veer right onto Centennial.
The Waterfront's average entree costs
close to $15.00, but the selection, taste, anc
atmosphere make it well worth it.
Not quite sure if it's the place for you?
Let me tell you about my night out by the
river.
I don't know if there could have been a
more perfect place for a romantic evening.
We arrived just as the sun began to set ovei
the river, which provided a beautiful back
drop for the dinner.
The waitress started us off with baked
Brie and baby back ribs. Their ribs are by
far the best I've ever tasted and my date
raved that they were "to die for." They pre
pared the ribs over a wood stove and fla
vored them without using sauce! The ribs
are definitely a staple of Waterfront's excel
lent selection.
As the sun set, the waitress brought a
candle to the table and the romantic atmos
phere was complete. My date and 1 talked
while enjoying the scenic view, and soon
the main courses arrived.
She ordered the top sirloin, while I had
the halibut. The halibut was the catch-of
the-day special, but the waitress informed
me that depending on what was fresh,
sometimes swordfish was available as well
as other exotic entrees.
After the main course, we split the
pecan pie-a perfect end to the meal. My
date had a wonderful time and it was by far
one of the most romantic and memorable
dining experiences I've ever had. If you
want to impress a lady, take her to the
Waterfront Bar & Grill.
If you want lunch, stop in during an
Alton Baker Park concert and listen from
the outdoor seating area. If you want a
romantic evening either the candle-lit deck
or the elegant indoor dining area is excel
lent.
Finally the curving restaurant bar is a
gorgeous place to stop in for a drink. The
Waterfront is the romantic hideaway by the
river with something for everyone.
